Trail One List: Sentiers du Moulin

HOLY GRAIL

The Trail One List is our guide to the best mountain bike trails in the world. We know your riding time is precious and travel is expensive. We want you to finish these rides with a giant smile on your face and a heart full of stoke, knowing the juice was worth the squeeze.

If I could snap my fingers and start a weeklong vacation at any trail center in the world I wouldn’t need more than a second to make my choice and teleport straight to Sentiers du Moulin in Quebec, Canada.

This place just gets it right. Every foot of every trail is a curated experience. The slabs, the berms, the wood skinnies. It’s all so tough, but it’s all so much fun. These trails are scary and tough, but they're built by real experts that understand how to challenge riders without killing them.

If you’re an expert rider I’m begging you to spend AT LEAST two days here to experience all it has to offer. If you stay for three or four days you will conquer some really tough challenges and come out the other side a better rider.

This place is not beginner or intermediate friendly. It starts at a solid black diamond experience and only goes up from there. Bring your A game.

SDM Website

SDM has plenty of rental bikes available and a full bike shop. They have a delicious restaurant and a ton of cool merch as well. The entrance fee is about $20 Canadian per day.

Nearby Rides

Vallee Bras Du Nord Shannahan is a fantastic riding area worth exploring if you've had enough of SDM or can't handle the tough trails. VBN is a little less difficult.

Mont-Sainte-Anne is a legendary bike park that has a ridiculous amount of TOUGH trails that always seem to be wet and slippery. But there are a few easier options worth exploring.
