The Shed started with a simple idea: build an alloy mountain bike rim that could take serious abuse without feeling overly stiff, harsh, or dead on the trail. Inspired by the rocky terrain of the Frederick Watershed, we focused on the details that actually matter when an enduro rim starts getting smashed through rough terrain.

A 30mm internal width gives modern trail and enduro tires the right shape. A wider 3.5mm rim lip adds material where impacts happen most to help fight dents and pinch flats. The asymmetric profile creates more even spoke tension for a stronger overall wheel, while a shallow rim depth keeps some compliance in the ride. Pair all of that with carefully selected 6061 aluminum and you get the balance we were chasing: strong enough to take a beating, without riding like a brick.

Building your own wheels? The Shed Rim is available in 27.5" and 29" diameters with 28h and 32h options, giving you the flexibility to build exactly what your bike needs.

Want the complete package? Every Shed Wheelset is handbuilt with DT Swiss Competition spokes and silver brass nipples, using a 28h front and 32h rear setup to balance ride feel up front with added strength where it matters most out back. Choose between 29/29 or MX configurations with SRAM XD or Shimano MS freehub bodies.
